The only real reason to retake the GMAT

The most common question on everyone's mind is whether they should retake the GMAT or not. Sometimes we feel we would be able to score higher if we could retake the test. That's not accurate. Firstly, your approach to test preparation must be modified ever so slightly so as to help you score better. Secondly, you must know which are your target schools and which are your dreams schools - so that you can set your sights on a higher target.  Lastly, just wishing for a higher score and having or discovering a better test preparation approach are not the right reasons for deciding to retake the GMAT. You need a stronger reason. The real reason is a strong commitment towards your dreams and post-MBA goals.

Why?

Because if you're not fully committed or if you do not know why you need that higher score, you will most likely not give your 100% and that will definitely result in a sub-par score. That is exactly the reason why a lot of people buy every GMAT book and course that exists but are still not able to achieve their goals. So push through your inner resistance using commitment and play the GMAT mind games by your own rules.
